Sealants & Fluoride Treatment
in Northeast Brampton
Dental sealants and fluoride treatments are simple, painless ways to protect your child's teeth from cavities. At Gardenbrooke Dental in Northeast Brampton, we apply sealants and professional fluoride to help children keep healthy teeth for years to come.

What Are Sealants and Fluoride?
Sealants are thin protective coatings painted onto the chewing surfaces of back teeth, where food and bacteria collect in deep grooves. Professional fluoride varnish strengthens enamel against acid.
Benefits
- Helps protect back teeth from cavities.
- Painless, with no drilling and no needles.
- Lasts several years with regular monitoring.
- Strengthens enamel with fluoride.
- Can reduce future dental treatment and anxiety.
When Are Sealants Applied?
Sealants work best when placed as soon as permanent molars erupt, usually around age 6 for first molars and around age 12 for second molars. Some dentists also seal baby molars in children at high cavity risk.
The Process
- Cleaning: the tooth is cleaned and dried.
- Gentle etching: a mild gel helps the sealant bond.
- Sealant application: liquid sealant is painted onto the chewing surface.
- Curing: a special light hardens it in seconds.
- Fluoride: a fluoride varnish is applied and left to absorb.
